Odd yet seems cuddly and amiable, platypus has characteristics that sets them apart with other animals. It has a big beak, can swim underwater to catch meal, has fur just like mammals, lays eggs, and suckles its young. Platypus’s feature surely baffles and amazes scientists. Moreover platypus has both the attributes of the warm-blooded and the cold-blooded. According to the latest study conducted by European Biologiformatics Institutes in Cambridge has unveiled proof that platypus has a cocktail of genes from birds, reptiles and mammals. This makes platypus which is also known as ornithorhynchus anatinius as one of a kind and provides geneticists the chance to learn about how it developed from a progenitor that also believed that bring humans to life, about 170 million years ago. Platypus has ten (10) genes which are much more than human’s two (2) genes. This could be the reason why platypus avoids diseases even without known immune system.

Confusing indeed, platypus enjoys specific genes to generate molecules as potent as antibiotics. Further studies are now in progress to track down how these amazing molecules work, if drug companies could transform these to wonder drugs to combat bug strains that wards off present day antibiotics.

Proteins are considered to be body-builders from the fundamental structure of muscles, tendons, bones and other tissues. Without it repairing damaged tissues won’t be possible. Generating new cells essential in growth will not materialize. Proteins also help make our body prevents wear and tear. Carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen (sometimes even phosphorous and sulfur atoms too) comprises a protein molecule. Any extra protein that the body doesn’t require is transformed into glucose to make energy or stored as fat.

Proteins are needed in smaller amounts, 40 to 60 grams a day is enough for the majority of adults.

Many wrongly thought that red meat is the best protein and other is second class.

Meat, fish, eggs, cheese, yoghurt, milk, bread, peas, beans, oat-based/wheat based breakfast cereals, and nuts provide little protein to your diet.

An ample amount of protein intake is not recommended, because surplus can be transformed and stored as fats.

Food rich in carbohydrates should be taken in ample quantities, especially for athletes or those with work that are stressful and very physical. Your body breaks carbohydrates down into the simple sugar glucose, which is used to give energy or will be stored for a short time in muscles and liver in the form of glycogen or animal starch. Extra glucose in our body is transformed as fat and may cause obesity. The molecules of carbohydrates contain carbon, hydrogen and oxygen atoms and even starches and sugars. Refined cane sugar is a major source of carbohydrates, and is consists of sugar sucrose, the sweetest of the natural carbohydrates. Refined sugar does not make you feel full just like other carbohydrate foods and could be possible cause of tooth decay. You must eat sugar and honey only in small amounts. The hormone insulin is vital for the oxidation of glucose the process of yielding energy for the body. When not enough insulin is generated and this may lead to diabetes. Starches should be in your carbohydrate intake. The best sources of starches are bread, oats, rice and beans. To make our diet balanced eat more bread and potatoes and less meat, fat and refined sugar. Cakes, biscuits, and puddings produced with white sugar and flour do no harm, but should not form bulk of your diet. Choose good alternatives like carrots and sandwich that is low in fat.

Scientifically speaking, we grow old and die because our body has consumed its telomeres.

Researchers observed, that in most types of cells, the telomeres became shorter after each successive division. Thus, after 50 or so divisions, the cell’s telomeres were whittled down to tiny nubs, and the cell stopped dividing and eventually died. The observation that cells appear to be limited to a finite number of divisions before they die was first reported in the 1960’s by Dr. Leonard Hayflick. Hence, the phenomenon is now referred to by many scientists as the Hayflick limit.

Going deeper though, why we die, there is something more important for us to know why do we grow old and die.

Imagine your life, if you could live, two hundred years, five hundred years, or more; An endless life is preferred is it not?

If you contemplate your desire to live endlessly, and the natural tendency of us not to accept death, did you not wonder why we think this way? If fact, on our part (the editor) already know the real reasons why we grow old and die.

It is very interesting to gain understanding on this matter. If you want detailed information regarding this discovery feel free to post your comment.

t is also of great interest to note that we humans have the deep inner sense of who we are. On the other hand, no animal species has the capacity to meditate the lot in life.

Live longer. Enjoy life while you are yet strong. The attainment of good health lies in knowing more about health. But the attainment of life without end is something more precious than the riches of the whole planet. Let your quest for the the attainment of the real life be granted.

All is well.
