In a study conducted by Yale School of Medicine and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine researchers yield new insights about female sexual dysfunction (FSD).
The sexual function of 56 women aged 18 through 68, according to the study will reveal that:
About half (48.2 percent) of the women studied have sexual dysfunction.
Women that have sexual dysfunction have declined sensation in the clitoris.
The study will also reveal that 23.2 percent had more than one form of sexual dysfunction of the women with FSD.
The team studied the pudenal nerve, that is, the nerve responsible for sensation in the genital region, and made an assessment of the role of genital neurological integrity and sexual function in women. They employed a confirmed screening questionnaire to determine women between ages 18 and 68 with FSD and conducted test on the vibratory and pressure sensation in the genital area.
