Some Facts About Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia is more ubiquitous in wealthy nations worldwide, to live in a developing nation maybe favorable after all. New discoveries coming from a report released online by the University of Queensland states that schizophrenia is more common in developed countries than in poorer countries and that the condition is less widespread than what was thought previously, getting rid of the common belief that the disease affects 10 in every 1,000 regardless of location.

Researchers reviewed 188 Schizophrenia studies dating from 1965 to 2002 from 46 countries and discovered that: Schizophrenia affects  between seven and eight in 1,000 people. Ironically, Schizophrenia is more common in wealthy countries. Poorer countries had more women with the Schizophrenia than men. All in all according to the studies the illness Schizophrenia affected more men that women, more migrants that native-born citizens and was more common in cities than in urban/rural areas. Schizophrenia is a group of brain disorders.  Schizophrenia symptoms may include: hallucinations, delusions, disorganized communication, poor planning and reduced motivation.
