The Warning Signs of Diabetes and its Risk Ractors.
The warning signs* of diabetes:
- Frequent urination
- Excessive thirst
- Increased hunger
- Weight loss
- Tiredness
- Lack of concentration and interest
- Vomiting and stomach ache (pain) which is often mistaken as flu)
- A tingling sensation or numbing in hands or feet.
- Blurred vision
- Frequent infections
- Wounds that is slow to heal.
If these signs are imminent seek medical attention at once.
*These can be mild or absent in people with Type 2 diabetes.
The Risk Factors for the Type 2 diabetes:
- Obesity and overweight
- Lack of exercise
- Have recent glucose intolerance
- Unhealthy eating habits
- Increased age in appearance
- High-Blood pressure and high cholesterol
- A family history of diabetes.
- A history of gestational diabetes.
- Ethnicity, higher rates of diabetes incidence has been recorded in Asians, Hispanics/Latinos, Indigenous people in North America (United States and Canada) and Australia.
- Get yourself tested if you are at risk of Type 2 diabetes.
